Also because it releases the updated version every 4-6 months as the article mentioned. However, in my opinion, in term of business model, Microsoft, the monopoly, has a more sustainable business plan. The traditional way of employing high skilled programmers is certainly ensure the persistent development of the company. Moreover, from the customer’s point of view, even though, they have to pay a fixed software package in the beginning, but there’re no other expenses such as consulting like Red Hat. Moreover, the free technical support also make Microsoft has a higher position in the market. In addition, statistically, Microsoft has outstanding profit-making revenue for the past years. Linux, on the other hand, has a possibility of getting bigger in terms of revenue. Still, as I have said, volunteer programmers are not very reliable. Not only the success is terms of revenue, Microsoft has a better brand image because it has been in the market for so long and has so many loyal customers globally. Even though, Red Hat is trying to differentiate by focusing more on the small business, but Microsoft’s strategy is still ahead of it because it provided its service/product to a larger based customers. I’m sure that Red Hat isn’t the first competitor Microsoft has ever had, but it has overcome all of them. He is now currently the Bishop William Lawrence University Professor, based at Harvard Business School. Professor Porter is generally known as the father of modern strategy field, and also identified as the world’s most influential thinker on management and competitiveness. Gay parents rights group argue that being raised by two parents of the same sex provides a balanced and healthy approach to parenting. This is untrue, being raised by gay parents means that the family unit has an unbalanced ratio of male and female role models in the home environment, you could reasonably expect that this imbalance would spread into the parents circle of friends and the people that the family socialise with on a regular basis. Children look for both a mother and a father and benefit from having both in the home. Response Paper Gilgamesh Essay

The Epic of Gilgamesh is very complex, but it is also considered one of the greatest epics in the Western literature. In the story we can find several contradictions, from which I chose the friendship between Enkidu and Gilgamesh. The story of Gilgamesh starts off by the description of Gilgamesh, â€Å"the strongest one of all,the perfect,the terror† (Ferry 4). Initially, Gilgamesh appeared as someone who isn’t able to have feelings nor relationships. Although he fought with Enkidu, once Gilgamesh tested his opponents strength, he decided to let him into his world becoming best friends. Some people would say that Gilgamesh is using Enkidu for his journeys, which we can see when he allows the hunter to take his prostitute and bring him. He did this for nothing in return, where we can notice that he already had a plan for Enkidu. Whilst this is correct in some points there are other things involved that prove differently. In the beggining of the story, Enkidu was made by the goddess Arura in order to punish Gilgamesh with the same wild and stormy heart as Gilgamesh has. Having this into consideration, Enkidu owes life to Gilgamesh, or at least shall be thankful to Gilgamesh for his own existing. Also, the people shall be grateful for their city, because Gilgamesh is the one â€Å"who opened passes through mountains; and who dug deep wells on the mountainsides;† (Ferry 4). This indicates the strength of Gilgamesh and values he had in the city. Once friends, Enkidu has started living differently, not like the wild beast he used to be. Enkidu is lucky for the friendship he has gotten from Gilgamesh, but it has also costed him. Gilgamesh has always wanted immortality and fame in the city, and because of his wish Enkidu is the one who has suffered. Before going to Cedar Forest, Enkidu is the one who was discussing with the Elders about the dangers of the trip. One doesn’t notice anywhere in the text how Enkidu knew about dangers of the trip and the keeper of the Cedar Forest, the demon Huwawa. This is the privilege that Gilgamesh does not have. Furthermore, throughout the trip, Enkidu is the one who was communicating with the God of the sun, their protector, Shamash. Aditionally, the Elders are advicing Gilgamesh to  let Enkidu go first and † find the water to quench† (Ferry 19) his thirst and offers to the God. This is a big advantage/value for the Enkidu, since he is the one communicating with the Gods and able to know the road. Further in the story, their friendship becomes stronger, once they share their strenghts and weaknesses, courage and fear. The most intriguing thing in the whole story is the heroic side of Enkidu. The true friendship and loyalty to Gilgamesh are his biggest values. Once in fight with the demon Huwawa, Gilgamesh was scared of the speed Huwawa was possessing and, once Gilgamesh saw his face, he hid away, in some cases even weeped. In each time, despite the dangerous cicumstances, Enkidu had quick mind and knew what he had to do, which is show Gilgamesh he was not alone, â€Å"Two people, companions, they can prevail together against the terror† (Ferry 26). Going futher into the story we are finding out that, because of killing Humwawa and Bull of Heaven, the Gods have decided to punish Enkidu,although God of Sun Shamas tried to save him. He had the protection of the God, because he was compressed into this trip. Initially, the mother of Gilgamesh, Rimat-Ninsun, just before the trip has hit the biggest weakness of Enkidu, â€Å"Enkidu has neither father nor mother;† (Ferry 13). This proves the fact that he had no choice left because he was feeling worthless and there was no other solution but to go to this dangerous trip. Even at the end, when Enkidu knew he was destined for punishment, he did not have selfish heart, he accepted it and stayed loyal to Gilgamesh. This has me thinking, who is the real hero? By whose name should the book be named instead? By the great strenght and power Gilgamesh, or the loyal, great guide who turned into hero with his actions? Did Enkidu think he owed his life to Gilgamesh, or he did not want to go against the will of the Gods? Considering many tablets are not recovered, which made the text incomplete, there is complexity to this friendship and many questions that need to be answered. Here, after Enkidu dying, we also get the feeling of Gilgamesh being selfish, and not saving his friend. As soon as Enkidu has died, and Gilgamesh saw a worm falling out of his nose, he saw the reality where this can happen to him too. He was determined to find immortality. Although on a  new selfish quest, we can see his true grieving for a friend, a brother. Every individual Gilgamesh encounters with can see that he is full of sorrow. This is where the prevalent repetition happens. At first, I thought it was a literary element only. However, how the story grew, the significance of the repetition grew also. It became the emphasis of Gilgamesh’s sorrows. It keeps being repetead to keep our mind on the soft-hearted Gilgamesh, who truly grieves for Enkidu, who undoubtfely deserved it. It is engraved in our memory that he is truly lonely and has lost someone who was a big part of his life. But even so, that little part in the back of my mind is still set on Gilgamesh not urging for Enkidu’s sparing. In a conclusion, friendship between Enkidu and Gilgamesh is far more than important in this great epic. The contradictions are tempting to discuss, and because of the missing tablets, there will always be some questions. However, although Gilgamesh did not get his immortality, this prominent story, through many centuries, definitely has.

That seems like a number that shouldnt be ignored. There is a diverse range of causes for poverty, and its easy to write it off as an effect of poor spending habits or lack of money management on an individuals part. In reality, hundreds of millions of people find themselves completely helpless against the oppressor that is extreme poverty. Of course there are cases where an individual has lost their own money, whether it be through addiction or spending their income frivolously, but these instances are much more common in highly developed countries like our own. In countries of extreme poverty, a majority of the population lives only on enough money to survive. One common cause of this is a lack of natural resources. Without cash crops to sell, a country can not run even the most traditional economy. In developed countries, the government would be working to channel wealth to its citizens. But in countries where they lack even the most basic forms of technology, the government is either corrupt or completely void of any operation at all. This makes it virtually impossible for individuals to climb the social/financial ladder when the country is entirely absent of any sort of structure, political or otherwise. The process of pulling a countrys people out of extreme and total impoverishment would require a strong approach. Because our country is a highly developed one, developmental aid is something commonly discussed when studying the war on poverty. This is when richer countries give money or support to poorer countries in the hopes that it will boost their economy and fuel widespread development. Like most solutions, there are good and bad sides to developmental aid. When looked at positively, it seems like a universal truth that those who have an excess should give to those who have a shortage. It is our duty as a wealthy country to give to those who are not as fortunate as we are. As we know, we live in a world where money and resources are required to get you anywhere in life, so it makes sense that we would give that to the countries that need a push to get rolling. Developmental aid provides relief and assistance to countries where the resources are stretched thin. With outside help, third world countries are given the opportunity to receive assistance in areas where they could not help themsel ves. Whether it be financial, material, or structural aid, anything is appreciated in countries where they have next to nothing. Despite our efforts to help, there are instances where developmental aid becomes detrimental to a country in the long run. There are times where outside countries get too involved, usually in the form of structural aid. Say a country sends agencies to a small country with the goal to reform the education system and start up new schools. This gesture is of course helpful and provides education for those who otherwise wouldnt have it, but soon more schools are run by foreign agencies than the countrys government. By solving one issue we have created another- in this case an opportunity for the government to grow has been stamped out. The immediate intentions of the mission were fulfilled, but the country was never pushed to strive for independent growth. A child puts training wheels on their bike while they learn to ride, but if they are never taken off the child will never know if they can ride on their own. This mortality rate in Australia can be said to be an incomplete identification of the health checks of the Indigenous people of Australia. West et al. (2013, p.103) commenced that due to the result of complete or absolute identification of the Indigenous death records, it has been registered that the total number of deaths of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in the year 2014 is actually the underestimation of the real number of deaths. It has been observed or reviewed in the study that the death rate of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is comparatively more than the other population. As recorded by Lingard (2016, p. 6), the life expectancy in Australia has improved miraculously for both the genders as estimated during the last century. In case of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of Australia, life expectancy has been estimated broadly to be 10.6 years lower than that of the non-Indigenous population for the male population in the society in comparison to the female population in the society. Most of the deaths caused in the Australian society among the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island population is due to their sufferings from the chronic lower respiratory diseases. What I seemingly know about the Indigenous community from my place is that the native Australia is made up of two cultural major groups; the Aboriginals and the Torres Strait Islander who have had the same fate and struggles (Lingard, 2016, p. 6). However, West et al. (2013, p.103) affirm that when referring to indigenous we frequently mean the Aboriginals only. I have known little of the indigenous social, cultural and historical life from my area of the resident. Flinders University established on the land of Kaurna nation with the main campus near Warriparinga, the famous site of ancestral Dreaming of Tjilbruke. The Indigenous Australians belonging to all the age groups mostly experience increased death rate other than the non-Indigenous Australians. In the health care homes of Australia, the Indigenous people do not actually receive the necessary care treatments and medication due to their cultural and other sorts of differences (Jacob, et. al., 2016, p.21). On the other hand, the non-Indigenous people can receive all sorts of medical help and facilities from the Australian health care professionals. I have noticed that the indigenous life expectancy is much lower than that of the non-Indigenous population. As a health care professional, I think I have enough responsibilities of making pathways for the Indigenous Australians so that they can get necessary and proper treatments for improving their health conditions and thereby reducing the death rate from the country. Being a care nurse, I must make sure that the Indigenous Australians are not deprived of care treatments and medications that will help them overcome their chronic diseases. I should communicate with the patients to find out their illnesses and must assess their medication needs effectively so that I can cure them in a better way. I should do regular monitoring so as to make assessments of their health conditions and progress. Good nursing interventions are very much needed so that the death rates of the Indigenous Australians can be reduced thereby promoting their health conditions. Hence it can be said that my effective nursing practices and implications can help the Indigenous Australians recover from their chronic illnesses and lead a prosperous life.
